The date and time that change began

metal chairYesterday in Jeff’s message I loved the comments about Nathaniel from John 1: 35-39

“The following day John was again standing with two of his disciples.  As Jesus walked by, John looked at him and declared, “Look! There is the Lamb of God!”  When John’s two disciples heard this, they followed Jesus. Jesus looked around and saw them following. “What do you want?” he asked them.  They replied, “Rabbi”, “where are you staying?” “Come and see,” he said. It was about four o’clock in the afternoon when they went with him to the place where he was staying, and they remained with him the rest of the day.   Jeff said, “Many Scholars believe that the disciple is referring to himself… He is describing HIS conversion experience”.

This was one of the dates and times you never forget, like the time and place of the first kiss, your child’s birth, your wedding and for alot of us the day and time we gave our life to Jesus.    Jeff then went on to say for him it was April 1, 1976 at The First Church of God in Sacramento, CA. with his Pastor Morris Williams.   Pastor Morris used a flip chart to describe the plan of salvation to Jeff and then they knelt by a metal folding chair and Jeff’s life changed for the better.

For me it was late on November 18th 1979 in the Student Center at WPC.  I had been searching my whole life but this night God’s message was so clear, no tears, no fan fare, I went to find Jeff working in the Student Center and told him I wanted to ask Christ into my life and he said,” Let’s talk about it”  That night I prayed to recieve Christ with my future husband and Pastor.

What is your date and time that change began?

June 15, 1970, about 1am – first night of church camp. I was 9. I realized after listening to the speaker that night that to go to Heaven I had to make a decision to follow Jesus for myself, and that I couldn’t just skate by on trying to be good and obey my parents.
